Description:
An update of new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) with emphasis on roles for medications and bariatric surgery, and an introduction to the ASMBS Childhood Obesity Toolkit.
Learning Objectives:
- The audience will understand the updated guidelines for metabolic and bariatric surgery from the AAP and appreciate their evolution.
- The audience will understand the current role of medications use in obesity management in children, both as medical therapy and as an adjunct to surgery.
- The audience will be introduced to materials in the Childhood Obesity Toolkit on the ASMBS website and how to use them.
