Description:

Expert faculty members will provide the foundations of knowledge relevant to the practice of bariatric behavioral health. This two-day course will help bariatric behavioral health clinicians to acquire relevant, evidence-based knowledge and skills, to improve competence in working with patients both pre- and post-metabolic/bariatric surgery (MBS). Material will also be presented by context experts from the disciplines of nutrition and surgery, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of MBS and the roles of various members of the multidisciplinary team. In addition, this course will provide bariatric behavioral health clinicians with a clinical framework and practical tools to use in practice with their patients. All disciplines within behavioral health are encouraged to attend – continuing education credits will be available. Interested MBS providers from other disciplines are also welcome to attend.
