Biography

Melinda J Watman, RN, BSN, MSN, CNM, MBA is the president & founder of THE F WORD FAT, an advisory service providing compassionate, accurate and comprehensive information for those trying to determine their weight management course of action. She is a board member of the Obesity Action Coalition chairing several committees including the Weight Bias and Education committees and now co-chairs the Long-Range Planning Committee. She is also one of the founding members and chair of the Mass Coalition for Action on Obesity. She is a frequent speaker on the personal effects of obesity and eating disorders.Melinda has worked in both the clinical and business sides of healthcare including as the director of a graduate-level course for the USC School of Medicine as well as the CEO and co-founder of a medical device company. She also owned a French restaurant. Her entrepreneurial endeavors led her to become a mentor for the MIT Venture Mentoring Service and the Boston University BUild Lab.She is passionate about health equity and comprehensive care for people with obesity.
