Biography

Colleen C. Schreyer, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Director of Clinical Research for the John Hopkins Eating Disorders Program. Dr. Schreyer provides individual and family therapy for adults and adolescents diagnosed with eating disorders and conducts pre-surgical psychiatric evaluations for individuals considering bariatric surgery. Her research interests include the roles of anxiety and decision-making in the maintenance of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa and identifying psychosocial predictors of treatment response for individuals with eating disorders. Within obesity, Dr. Schreyer’s research is focused on psychosocial predictors of bariatric surgery outcomes including pain catastrophizing and sleep dysfunction, as well as behavioral weight loss treatment, and treatment for post-bariatric surgery patients who develop eating disorders.
