Biography

Nabeel Obeid, MD, FACS, FASMBS is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School and interim Division Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He also serves as the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Michigan Medicine. Dr. Obeid is the Associate Program Director for the Advanced GI/MIS fellowship, and is actively involved in medical student and post-graduate surgical education. He attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate studies and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his general surgery training at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Stony Brook Medicine. Dr. Obeid serves on the Quality Improvement/Patient Safety and Membership committees of ASMBS, and the Metabolic/Bariatric Surgery and Membership (Co-Chair) committees of SAGES.
