Biography

I studied biochemistry at Harvard College and graduated with honors in 2008. Afterwards, I spent two years working at a strategy and management consulting firm in Boston where I specialized in the pharmaceuticals, biotech, and medical devices space. I then matriculated at Emory Medical School as a Woodruff Fellow and graduated in 2015. During my time at medical school, I spent an extra year doing transplant immunology research as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Medical Fellow with Dr. Allan Kirk. I completed my general surgery residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, MA. During my 2-year research tour in residency, I obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. I also was a Torchiana Fellow in Healthcare Management, for which I worked with Mass General Hospital leadership to better understand how to make patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) a useful tool in the clinical setting. Finally, I was a Harvard Quality and Safety Scholar, for which I worked with Dr. Andrea Pusic to both develop and implement PROMs in the BWH bariatric surgery division. I am currently doing a 2-year Minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Emory with the first year focused on research. This year, my primary project is to establish a patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) program at Emory Bariatric surgery and to establish a collaboration between Emory and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital in Boston.
