Biography

Dr. Kanney is a sleep medicine physician at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She is board certified in General Pediatrics, Developmental Pediatrics, and Sleep Medicine. She holds the academic title of Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. Her current clinical practice covers a broad range of pediatric sleep disorders. Given the escalating rates of childhood obesity, much of her current clinical work is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. As a member of the hospital’s interdisciplinary bariatric surgery team, she works collaboratively with team members, providing pre-surgical sleep medicine evaluations and ongoing peri-operative care for a large population of adolescents with severe obesity who are awaiting weight loss surgery.
