Biography

I started my scientific research journey in the field of endocrine and metabolic disease when I was an MD-MPH student at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. I was always a surgery enthusiast specifically for the innovative solution it brings to the difficult medical problems. I was lucky enough to work with one of the best pioneers of the field in Iran and maybe the world who developed novel techniques in bariatric surgery. This brought me to work with a great team of MIS surgeons at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Research University, at which I collaborated in many projects and publications as well as presentations at the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons(SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) meetings.I extended my field of research further into surgical education when I joined an amazing group of surgeon scientists at Indiana University School of Medicine. I am currently an active member of ASMBS research committee, SAGES, American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), and the Association for Surgical Education (ASE), and I hope I can take my experience to the clinical practice.
