Biography

Adam Dungey, MBA, BSN, is the Administrator of UMMC’s Weight Management Department. The Weight Management Department includes the Adult Bariatric Surgery program, the Adult Medical Weight Management Program, and the Pediatric Weight Management and Wellness program. Adam also serves as a liaison with the Mississippi Center for Obesity Research housed in the Guyton Research Facilities at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Adam serves as a Member-at-Large on the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Integrative Health Executive Council. He also services as a member of the ASMBS Integrative Health Membership Committee; as well as the ASMBS IHEC Liaison to the Integrative Health Multidisciplinary Care Committee.Adam received his Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 1999. He then received his BSN from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2005. After becoming more involved in the manager and director roles, he pursued and received his MBA from Millsaps College in 2012.Adam has been a part of the fight from Obesity as a leader in Bariatric Surgery and Weight Management since 2002. He, along with Dr. Ken Vick, implemented the UMMC Weight Management Department in 2013.
