Biography

I am the current minimal invasive and bariatric surgery fellow at Duke University. I am board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. I completed my general surgery residency at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School and my surgical critical care fellowship at University of Connecticut. I am also a member of the Association of Academic Surgery, American College of Surgeons and Association of Women Surgeons.I have 10 peer reviewed publications and a book chapter and several oral presentations in national meetings. My current research interests are health disparities in risk factors for metabolic syndrome and food insecurity. I hope to study the relationship between access to food and its health implications and work to narrow the gap in food securities through research in the future. I am looking forward to attending the ASMBS meeting and excited to be a part of the growing and welcoming community.
