Biography

Dr. Campos is the Paul J. Nutter Professor of Surgery (with Tenure) and the Chair of the Division of Bariatric and GI Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. He is the Director of the VCU Bariatric Surgery Program and Co-Director of the VCU Foregut, Bariatric, and Advanced GI/MIS Fellowship. Dr. Campos’ research focuses on treatment outcomes after minimally invasive procedures for obesity and esophageal diseases. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and chapters in books, and his work has more than 7,400 citations, with an H-index of 43. Dr. Campos is an Associate Editor for SOARD and an Editorial Board Member of the Journals Foregut, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Obesity Surgery.
