She developed and led a metabolic-focused MBS nutrition clinic for several years while conducting translational research in human metabolism, disordered eating behaviors, and body composition in an outpatient setting. She has mentored numerous students during clinic rotations in MBS nutrition. Dr. Benson-Davies also has extensive experience as a lead evidence analyst on national nutrition guideline projects for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, following a career with academic teaching appointments. Her contributions to ASMBS through committee appointments and clinical review publications including preoperative optimization, limb length, pregnancy bariatric surgery, and led the consensus statement project on band management. Dr. Benson-Davies continues to be nationally recognized as an expert in bariatric nutrition.
