Biography

Dr. Yewande Alimi is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. She specializes in the surgical treatment of obesity via minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Alimi also sees patients for reflux disease, gallbladder disease, hernias, and other gastrointestinal conditions. Her research interests include disparities in access and outcomes in bariatric surgery and clinical outcomes research in the realms of hernia and bariatrics. She serves on a number of national committees, including the American College of Surgeons, where she currently is serving as the Chair of the Resident and Associate Society, and is involved in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and currently serves as the candidate member to the board.
